RIYADH: The Al-Baha region in southwest 萝莉视频听features a rich tapestry of archaeological sites and historic structures that span various eras, highlighting the area鈥檚 deep cultural heritage.听

These landmarks not only preserve the region鈥檚 historical legacy but also serve as enduring symbols of its vibrant past.听

Among the most notable are Al-Qara Hill and the oratory of Shada Al-Ala Mountain.

The oratory of Shada Al-Ala Mountain is atop Jabal Shada in Al-Makhwah Governorate, occupying an area of about 9 sq. meters, the Saudi Press Agency reported.听

Built along the entire perimeter of the mountain鈥檚 peak, it rises more than 2,200 meters above sea level, requiring an arduous four-hour trek from the nearest village to reach it.听

Despite its isolation, the oratory has remarkably preserved its four walls, although its roof has collapsed and remains unrestorable due to the site鈥檚 extreme inaccessibility and the rugged terrain leading to it.

He highlighted their presence in numerous glossaries, historical records and poetic works dating back to the sixth century.

Al-Shadwi noted that the white rock situated beneath the mountain to the northwest is a triangular formation commonly known as 鈥淎l-Marwa鈥 and the summit is named 鈥淨immat Al-Marwa鈥 after it, as referred to by the villagers.听

The Shada Al-Ala and Al-Asfal mountains are home to a wealth of historical sites and landmarks that date back thousands of years. Among them are ancient caves, rock inscriptions, the Shada Mountain Reserve, and the oratory.听

The region is also celebrated as the area where Shadawi coffee is cultivated.

DCO launches new AI ethics tool to advance responsible technology use
  • DCO AI Ethics Evaluator marks an important milestone in the organization鈥檚 efforts to translate its principles for ethical AI into practical action

GENEVA: 萝莉视频鈥檚 Digital Cooperation Organization has launched a pioneering policy tool designed to help governments, businesses and developers ensure artificial intelligence systems are ethically sound and aligned with human rights principles, it was announced on Friday.

Unveiled during the AI for Good Summit 2025 and the WSIS+20 conference in Geneva, the DCO AI Ethics Evaluator marks an important milestone in the organization鈥檚 efforts to translate its principles for ethical AI into practical action, it said.

The tool is a self-assessment framework enabling users to identify and mitigate ethical risks associated with AI technologies across six key dimensions.

It provides tailored reports featuring visual profiles and actionable recommendations, aiming to embed ethical considerations at every stage of AI development and deployment.

Speaking at the launch, Omar Saud Al-Omar, Kuwait鈥檚 minister of state for communication affairs and current chairman of the DCO Council, described the tool as a resource to help AI stakeholders 鈥渁lign with ethical standards and apply strategies to mitigate human rights impacts.鈥

He said it drew on extensive research and global consultation to address the growing demand for responsible AI governance.

DCO Secretary-General Deemah Al-Yahya highlighted the urgency of the initiative: 鈥淎I without ethics is not progress, it鈥檚 a threat. A threat to human dignity, to public trust, and to the very values that bind our societies together.鈥

She continued: 鈥淭his is not just another checklist, it is a principled stand, built on best practices and rooted in human rights, to confront algorithmic bias, data exploitation and hidden ethical blind spots in AI.鈥

Al-Yahya emphasized the evaluator鈥檚 wide applicability: 鈥淚t鈥檚 not just for governments, but for anyone building our digital future 鈥 developers, regulators, innovators. This is a compass for responsible AI, because ethical standards are no longer optional. They are non-negotiable.鈥

Alaa Abdulaal, the DCO鈥檚 chief of digital economy intelligence, provided a demonstration of the tool at the launch.

鈥淭he future of AI will not be shaped by how fast we code, but by the values we choose to encode,鈥 he said.

Also in Geneva, the 鈥淎I Readiness Assessment Framework鈥 was reviewed by the Saudi Data & AI Authority.

This key initiative was developed in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union at the third Global AI Summit, held in Riyadh last year.

During the session, SDAIA representatives included Mohammed Al-Awad, director general of studies, and Rehab Al-Arfaj, director general of strategic partnerships and indicators. They praised the Kingdom鈥檚 global role in the governance and development of artificial intelligence technologies and emphasized its contributions to strengthening cooperation.

They also stressed several pioneering national AI initiatives and projects. These included 鈥淎ynay,鈥 one of the Kingdom鈥檚 advanced medical solutions, which accurately detects and diagnoses diabetic retinopathy.

In addition, Al-Awad and Al-Arfaj highlighted 萝莉视频鈥檚 efforts in launching the 鈥淎I Readiness Assessment Framework,鈥 which embodies the Kingdom鈥檚 commitment to supporting safe, responsible and sustainable use and development of AI systems.

  • The project represents a significant step in 萝莉视频鈥檚 marine conservation efforts

RIYADH: A new environmental initiative aimed at directly involving local communities in coral reef rehabilitation will be launched on Saturday.

The innovative 鈥淎dopt a Coral鈥 scheme, by the General Organization for the Conservation of Coral Reefs and Turtles in the Red Sea (SHAMS), will also promote awareness of marine ecosystem preservation.

The project represents a significant step in 萝莉视频鈥檚 marine conservation efforts, supporting Vision 2030 sustainability goals and the Saudi Green Initiative鈥檚 mission to prevent ecosystem decline and protect biodiversity.

SHAMS has developed the program using proven scientific methods for identifying damaged reef areas and implementing cutting-edge rehabilitation techniques. The organization鈥檚 track record includes successful long-term monitoring systems that measure ecosystem recovery over extended periods.

The initiative offers a range of opportunities for those taking part, from hands-on coral seedling planting to educational workshops addressing major reef threats, including climate change and marine pollution. It particularly targets 萝莉视频鈥檚 diving community as active contributors to reef monitoring and public education efforts.

Central to the program is a symbolic adoption concept, where participants take responsibility for specific coral sections.

Initial implementation will focus on selected Red Sea coastal sites, with gradual expansion planned to maximize both long-term environmental impact and sustainable community involvement.

As environmental pressures mount, 鈥淎dopt a Coral鈥 initiative offers a practical model for community-based conservation of the fragile underwater habitats and reflects SHAMS鈥檚 broader mission to transform environmental protection into tangible community action.
