BRUSSELS: French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday said France was a 鈥渓oyal and steadfast ally鈥� in NATO after US leader Donald Trump questioned whether alliance members would come to the United States鈥� defense.
鈥淲e have always been there for each other,鈥� Macron told reporters in Brussels after a meeting of EU leaders to discuss European defense. He said France had shown 鈥渞espect and friendship鈥� to the United States, and 鈥渨e are entitled to ask for the same thing.鈥�
