DUBAI: Ƶ’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan condemned Israel’s continued attacks on the West Bank at a press conference during an official trip to Rome on Thursday.
And echoing Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s recent comments on the subject, Prince Faisal added: “We agree with Italy on the importance of quickly stopping the war in Gaza.”
Meloni previously condemned Monday’s killing of five journalists in Gaza in an Israeli missile attack, and called for a two-state solution.
Prince Faisal cited the importance of paving the way for a political process to take place in Gaza.
“We condemn the continuation of Israeli attacks in the West Bank. The two-state solution is the only path to peace in the region,” he said, referring to the recent raids carried out in the area by Israel’s troops.
The foreign minister also touched on the crisis in Ukraine, saying the Kingdom would continue to provide all necessary space for dialogue between the warring factions.
Prince Faisal’s visit to Italy comes eight months after Meloni’s visit to the Kingdom when $10 billion-worth of agreements were signed in an effort to boost economic cooperation between the two countries.
