RIYADH: ÂÜÀòÊÓÆµ hosted the first meeting of Arab maritime authorities, in coordination with the International Maritime Organization, on the sidelines of the second Sustainable Maritime Industry Conference in Jeddah, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.

The meeting set out to unify efforts and strengthen technical cooperation between Arab maritime authorities and the IMO by developing joint programs and partnerships to enhance the efficiency of Arab maritime operations and support sustainability and sector growth.

The event was led by the Deputy for Maritime at the Transport General Authority Essam Al-Amari, and Kamal Al-Junaidi, ÂÜÀòÊÓÆµâ€™s permanent representative to the IMO, both of whom played a pivotal role in organizing the meeting.

Their efforts helped create an effective dialogue environment, enhancing coordination among Arab authorities and opening avenues for regional and international cooperation, the SPA added.

The Sustainable Maritime Industry Conference is a global platform that brings together leaders, decision-makers, and experts in maritime transport and logistics, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to innovation and sustainable development in the sector.
