RIYADH: Brazilian footballer Neymar was warmly welcomed by his club Al-Hilal and a number of their sponsors after he arrived back in Riyadh on Monday evening.
He was presented with bouquets of roses and other gifts after arriving in the Saudi capital on a private jet from Barcelona, Spain, Arriyadiyah newspaper reported.
The PR department at Al-Hilal welcomed the international star, who returned to the Kingdom accompanied by three close friends.
Neymar graciously answered the requests of children and young fans in Al-Hilal shirts, giving his autograph and posing for photos with them.Â
A representative from Dkhoon AlEmiratia, a sponsor of Al-Hilal, presented the star with bottles of perfume. They also provided incense that filled the air during the footballer’s reception.
A representative of Floward, another sponsor of the team, presented bouquets of flowers to the player and his companions.
Neymar suffered a ligament tear during a match between his national team and Uruguay on October 18.
After signing with Al-Hilal last summer, his participation was restricted to just five matches before his unfortunate injury.
